As I said the other day, Rick & I tapped trees on Sunday. We didn’t expect to see any progress the next morning since we did it mid-day.
Well, Monday morning Rick went out to bring wood in the house and told me that, in fact, one of the trees had showed us that it had something to offer and that it would make a great photo op.
But, before venturing out and looking at this illustrious tree, I went out on the front porch and got this.
I love to see the sun come up through the trees in the property across from our house.
I knew it was going to be a nice day.
Anywho, I put on my coat and headed to the backyard to the Maple tree that he said held great beauty for me.
Huh. Guess this tree was showing me that the sap was indeed ready to run! Only it got too late in the day on Sunday and froze in it’s tracks.
Sure gave it a heck of a try!
Even with the temps being close to 40 (and slightly above), we haven’t collected much so far this week. But, I’m an optimist. The snow is continuing to melt, which means that the sap will be flowing full steam pretty soon.
Mother Nature always has a way of making you wait for what is most important.
And if it’s meant to be, I’ll be here waiting for it.
